What MUSC Health’s digital transformation leader learned at Noteworthy 2024

As healthcare leaders and executives plan ahead for the policy changes, budget cuts, and staffing and labor challenges they’ll continue to face in 2026, gatherings like Noteworthy provide indispensable opportunities to learn, connect, strategize, and grow.

We caught up with Crystal Broj, Enterprise Chief Digital Transformation Officer at MUSC Health, to hear why attending Noteworthy in 2024 made such a lasting impact—and why she’s already looking forward to going back.

From valuable learnings to her advice for first time attendees, hear first-hand from Crystal why you should attend Noteworthy this October.

What initially motivated you to attend Noteworthy?

We see Notable as a true partner. Showing up at Noteworthy is our way of investing in that partnership—learning directly from the product teams, hearing what’s next on the roadmap, and, just as importantly, connecting with other health systems who are solving similar problems. It’s where we compare notes, pressure-test ideas, and bring practical insights back to our teams.

What was the most valuable part of the experience for you?

The relationships. Meeting the Notable folks we usually see on Teams—face to face—lets us go deeper, faster. And the peer community is invaluable; being able to “phone a friend” in healthcare makes all the difference. We’re all trying to make care easier and better for patients, so there’s a generosity in the conversations that you don’t always find elsewhere.

Can you share a key learning, connection, or moment that stood out?

The preview of what’s coming—Flow Builder, voice, and more—sparked immediate “how might we” conversations for our organization. Even in early stages, we could see where these capabilities fit our day-to-day work and what groundwork we’d need: governance, data readiness, and training. I left with a clear checklist of how to prepare our teams to use these tools safely and at scale.

How did the event impact your goals, perspective, or work afterward?

It gave us a crisp way to explain an “AI agent workforce” and why it matters—freeing people to practice at the top of their license, whether that’s front line or back office. Pranay and Dr. Aaron articulated this beautifully on stage, and we’ve reused that framing in internal briefings to build alignment. Practically, it accelerated our planning around governance, change management, and a structured path to certification so we can adopt responsibly, not just quickly.

What advice would you give to someone considering attending for the first time?

Come curious—and bring both an operations and an IT partner if you can. Ask customers about outcomes and also about what didn’t work at first and how they pivoted. Take notes on the “how,” not just the “what”: workflows, governance, data feeds, and stakeholder engagement. If you’re already a partner, this is the place to share your playbook and borrow someone else’s.

How would you describe the networking environment at Noteworthy?

Intentional and relaxed. There are plenty of touchpoints—sessions, breakouts, hallway chats, meal breaks—and people are genuinely open. It doesn’t feel salesy; it feels collaborative. You’ll leave with contacts you’ll actually use.

What are you most looking forward to at Noteworthy 2025?

Seeing what’s new and what’s been refined, so we can plan from a more strategic vantage point and adapt quickly to updates. I’m excited for hands-on time with emerging capabilities and to compare implementation lessons with peers. And honestly—reconnecting with colleagues from other health systems. We’re stronger together.
