Last week we announced a new partnership. The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) will leverage Notable’s intelligent automation platform to power a digital front door for every patient. Together, we will digitize and automate scheduling, registration, and clinical intake workflows to transform the patient-provider experience across the care continuum.

Despite the many advances in technology, the healthcare industry is still plagued by highly manual workflows. Many health systems recognize this challenge and are investing in innovative technology to change this status quo, in an effort to improve the patient-provider experience. MUSC Health is widely recognized as being a champion for innovation and an industry leader in fostering a culture that embraces technology. We are thrilled that Notable is now part of their journey to digital transformation, with a focus on making healthcare more accessible through intuitive technology that simplifies historically complex processes. 

Through a combination of AI, RPA, and APIs Notable deploys bots or ‘digital assistants’ that perform tasks in the electronic health record (EHR) just like a human would, such as logging a note, submitting an order, or sending a bill to a patient. They also digitally engage with patients to collect vital information before and after a patient’s visit. Plus, Notable is optimized for ease of use: patients don’t need to download a new app or create yet another username and password — they simply use their last name and birthdate to complete their intake forms on the go or from the comfort of their home.

Automating these manual tasks through Notable can save MUSC Health care team members 700+ hours of administrative work per year, enabling them to reallocate that time to providing high-touch, personalized service to every single patient. 

Notable’s digital assistants free up time for staff and care providers by automating manual tasks that eat up large parts of their days, in turn giving them more time back to better serve each patient. By investing in and deploying intelligent automation, MUSC Health can improve upon their patient- and family-centered care delivery model to expand access to high quality, equitable care, as well decrease duplicative workflows and time-consuming tasks for their care team members. 

From pre-registration questionnaires to referrals and reminders to close care gaps, Notable’s digital assistants can leverage digital engagement channels like mobile to help patients access care in an easier and more convenient fashion than ever before, leading to more engaged, healthier patients. Through the platform, MUSC Health has the ability to identify and engage patients proactively before they enter the clinic, which is key to ensuring South Carolinians get the timely care they need and deserve.

Most health systems share similar goals for improving access to quality care without requiring patients to wait on hold or in the waiting room, fill out paper forms, or complete information shared previously. Using the Notable platform, MUSC Health can eliminate these frustrating experiences for patients and create newfound capacity among staff to serve even more patients in the MUSC Health community.
